"The last large Torpedo Bomber mission was flown on 21.04.1945 when force of eighteen (ten Ju 88, eight Ju 188) torpedo bombers were decimated at sea off south-west of Norway (POS 5120N/0300E ~ PLQ 05öst/3857). Nine were claimed by (42) Mosquitoes of the Banff Strike Wing (i.e. 144, 235 and 238 SQ) in addition to four Norwegian manned Mosquitoes of 333 SQ, when they were returning from strike on Danish Airfields. Two of them are reported to have returned, only to bellyland in Norway. (Actually II/KG 26 lost six Ju 88 A-17 machines and III/KG 26 losing one or two Ju 188 A-3). They had all flown from Stavanger/Sola and were after any Allied convoy or ships off Scotland, in area north of Peterhead." (my manuscript)
