Dobas equipment

Hi!

i'm looking for information on "Dobas equipment" found on Ju 88 A-4 (in ex: Ju 88 A-4 (1H+MN); 5./KG 26).

The word is misspelled: It is Dobbas.




Die Konstruktion DOBBAS lag die Forderung zu Grunde, normale Kampfflugzeuge für die Beförderung sperriger Lasten einzusetzen zu können. Die Erprobungsstelle Rechlin entwickelte und erprobte deshalb das Transportgerät DOBBAS im Jahre 1942 mit den Flugzeugmustern He 111, Ju 88, Ju 87 und Me 110. Für das Transportgerät DOBBAS waren folgende Geräte für den Transport bei einer max. Last von 1061 kg vorgesehen: Pak 3,7 cm, Pak 5 cm, Luftlandegeschütz, Gebirgsgeschütz, Flakgeschütz 2 cm oder Krad mit Beiwagen.

Xerumbe,
1. You have a typo in the name. It's called Dobbas.
2. Had you "googled" that, you would have learned, it is an (experimental) external container for transport purposes. Bulky goods (e.g. AT-guns) could be moved on a/c that were actually not intended for transports (Ju87, Ju88, Bf110 etc.). But of course it could be attached to any other capable a/c.

On a Ju88 it could have been Versorgungsbombe(-n), Versorgungsbehälter, Versorgungsabwurfbehälter.
I have a picture a He111 carrying a spare landing wheel attached to the the bomb shackle
