Hi.
According to my information, Franz Maierl was killed as a pilot in 3./L.G.2, piloting Messerschmitt Bf 109E, WNr 2059, coded 'Yellow 8'. The aircraft was possibly used in a fighter-bomber role. Regards, Andreas

A search on http://www.volskbund.de tell us that Franz Maierl was unteroffizer. He was born on 29/01/1917 in Sarstein. Best regards
