Re: Uffz Josef Stiglmayer 9/JG-3
Hi guys
Is this the same Uffz Josef Stiglmaier who flew with 14./JG77 in the early days of the Eastern War? Apparently there is some confusion over the spelling of his name. Cheers Brian |

Re: Uffz Josef Stiglmayer 9/JG-3
Thank you Chris & Brian for your very prompt replies.
I personally have no idea whether Stiglmayer and Stiglmaier were one and the same pilots. I suppose this could be so as perhaps Stiglmayer would have been on the War Graves site if he had met his demise....if he seems to have disappeared in some other way and then Stiglmaier then appears, I suppose they could be one and the same. Do I take it Chris that you have access to that microfilm page? If so, I would very much appreciate a copy if at all possible. Please advise. If Dr Prien does read this post, then I would very much appreciate any knowledge he has on this particular pilot!! (The Stiglmayer flying at the time of the Battle of France). Thanks again both. |
