Re: Stanford Tuck August 1940

Hi Brian,
On the 8th August he flew one fighter patrol. Taking off at 09:40 hrs in Spitfire L9545. The flight only lasted 20 minutes over Fishguard and district. There is no mention of a Ju88.
On the 2nd August he also had a fighter patrol over Pembury and district. On this date he took off at 10:35 and mentions sighting a Ju88 which he lost in cloud.
Is it possible that the combat happened on this date and that his brother-in-law was injured on this date, eventually succumbing to his injuries on the 8th?
Gerry
