Re: JU 52 losses Waalhaven
Peter,
I doubt whether your fresh input is correct. All overviews of the May 10 airlift consistently mention II./KGzbV1 as the carrier of III./FSJR1 to Rotterdam Waalhaven and Feijenoord. The dropping of 1./FSJR1 parachute troops at Dordrecht were done by KGzbV172. A mix-up between these two is very unlikely. The planes of II./KGzbV1 were not attacked by Dutch fighters during their activities, but two were apperently hit by anti-aircraft fire. One Ju-52 crashed at the airfield of Munster and 1 close to the Dutch border. Pieter |
