Hi Sid,
sure it was related to that... Air recon revealed higher activity of ground unit support types of A/C just on sept 17, 1944. Decision was made... I presume that it was also in direct corelation to SNU (Slovak National uprising) as OSS group landed in free land area on September 17, 1944 and were able to radiotransmit demands of Gen. Golian to bari with requets for help to guerilla army...However I never saw a proove of this, but I guess it is highly probable... regards Peter
