Re: Were 38 Group claims and losses included in Fighter Command Combats and casualties
Adding some more info
The reason for my question is that I hope to find a reliable summary of all claims made by 38 Group and I also want to check if claims made in combat reports were approved by Group or Command. Here are two examples of dates with claims by squadrons of 38 Group. 18th September 1943 the rear gunner of Halifax DG396/QQ, 295 Sqn shot down a Ju 88 over the Bay of Biscay (https://www.raf38group.org/dg396b.htm). 30th March 1945 at 0118 hrs the rear gunner of Stirling 20.F, 196 Sqn claimed a damaged Me 110 Pos 5853N 0844E (Combat report) Cheers, Peter |
