Pictures show the damage caused by the attacks.
The JG 26 books says JG 26 did not make contact with the bombers, but JG 2 was also involved in the air battles of this day. It is supposed to be more west, but still a possibility.

According to the database of Luftwaffe summary losses, JG 2 lost this day three aircraft shot down by enemy aircraft (one each of I./JG 2, 11./JG 2 and 12./JG 2) and three destroyed on the ground (two of 10./JG 2 and one of 11./JG 2).

The only known German claims are two Spitfires claimed by Major Egon Mayer of Stab JG 2 E and N of Evreux (by the way 308 Sqn lost two Spitfires in this area to German fighters).
