One such is the drab little Me 262 A-1a/Jabo in your post #118. This Me 262 is remarkable for its lack of markings - no wappen, no nose or tail tip colour of KG 51, no apparent Karoband of KG 6 or KG 54. However, in my humble opinion, the camouflage pattern, especially that of the engine nacelle, is close or identical to that of WNr. 111747. Hopefully the Werknummer is visible to the buyer.

Thank you for posting this.

Jim

Re: eBay: German intrest

Hi Jim,

I too am appreciative of Snautzer's combing through Ebay sites and sharing these little treasures with us. Many thanks!

Regarding this kite, I suggest its camouflage and markings scheme, ETC racks and cockpit head armour together point to an aircraft from 1123xxx werknummer series.

Indeed, images of the uncoded Me 262 WNr.112360 of JV 44 at Innsbruck-Hötting, WNr.112372 "ro. 2" of 10./NJG 11 at Schleswig, and WNr.112385 "ge. 8" of 3./JG 7 at Stdendal-Borschig are all very similar in appearance. The pattern of RLM 81 around the forward half of the Jumo engines is particularly distinctive.

All the best,

David

Hi David,

I see what you mean. Thank you for the tips.
