Good evening,
can anybody tell me why a Maximilian Stotz score of 189 can often be read in older books ? Or can anybody tell me if his final score was indicated in his newspaper death announcement ? Kind regards, Michael

Luftwaffe in Colour: From Glory to Defeat by Christophe Cony & Jean-Louis Roba (2017) acknowledges the total score of 182 found by Johannes Mathews & John Foreman (2015) in Luftwaffe Aces — Biographies and Victory Claims: 161 in the Bf109 and 21 in the Fw 190 which makes Stotz the top Austrian Messerschmitt ace.
