Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

I did ask the seller for better scans but he never replied so we'll have to do with this one:
a Fw 190, Ju 88 ??+AR and a photo of a pile of wrecks:

The Fw 190 D-9 in the lower left corner is W.Nr. 210239 from 6./JG 26, crash-landed in Wesel area on 9th March 1945.

Junkers 88 G-1, W.Nr.712283, 3C+AR, 7.Staffel/NJG 7, lost during a special mission, crashed east of Maastricht, 100% damage
Pilot: (Staffelkapitän?) Uffz. Erich Stifter, bordmechanik Gefr. Johann Blever, radaroperator Obgefr.Werner Lefkes, they all died

Can someone confirm it?

Thanks to all of you. Ľubor.

Ju88G-1 W.Nr. 712283 (3C+AR) of III./NJG4 (7. Staffel) crashed two kilometres N/NNW of Wesel at approx. 23.55 hrs on the night of 24-25 March 1945 during a Nachtschlacht mission against the Allied bridgehead over the Rhine.

FF: Lt. Mittendorf OR von Mylius (not a Staffelkapitän)
Bf: Uffz. Erich Stifter
Bm: Gefr. Johann Blever
Bs: Ogefr. Werner Lefkes + (b. 07/09/1924 in Viersen, buried in unknown grave at the Kriegsgräberstätte in Wesel-Diersfordt (D))

By all accounts, one man died in the crash, two wounded men were shot, and one man was taken prisoner. Ogefr. Lefkes is the only confirmed death so far, but two bodies of the crew are visible in photos taken the day after the crash, and other photos from a later time show the body of the pilot after recovery from the cockpit (which was apparently cut open to get the body out).

Cheers

Rod
