Chris' book mentions the loss, but I can see no details other than it says he was in 3./KG40 and he failed to return from an armed reconnaissance mission in the Iceland/Greenland area on 28 Oct 1942.
The book - FW200 Condor Units of WW2 - is available at a good price in electronic form from Amazon. Peter
