I would agree with your suggestion for organisation, but there would be extra aircraft and even more pilots in the establishment. Each flight would have its own leader, usually a Flight Lt.

It was usual that the same section colours were applied to the Flights - I cannot say it was universal.

There was no Wing organisation at this time. All squadrons did indeed possess their own ground crew and ground staff: the adjutant was in many ways the backbone of the unit, as he would normally serve much longer with the unit than any of the flying staff.
