Re: Ace in a day
I just counted the American Fighter Aces listings for 5+ and the count was
37 USAAF, 7 USMC, and 52 USN (53 events with McCambell scoring 9 and 7 on separate occasions) The Fighter Aces Association used USAF 85 as the sole determinant so none of these include Ground scores - Several Ace in a Day such as Bob Woody 4.5 on 24 April 1944 dropped out of the list after revising down on the shared score... from 5 to 4.5.
