Hi Gilles,
Certainly the early 109G with the 7.92mm MG17 cowling guns retained its spent cartridge cases in the compartment under the cockpit. Also, cartridges that "cook-off" outside the barrel usually split along their length and do not show the impact mark of a firing pin. Cheers SM Last edited by schwarze-man; 30th May 2019 at 09:15.
