Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hello,
# 2232. From Forsyth's Heinkel He 111: Picture caption. He 111 H-6 D-ACLQ of Fluginspektion Afrika at Algiers on 9 November, 1942. Unlike D-ARAJ and D-APZE, which performed similar duties and which were finished in a lighter colour or left in bare metal, this aircraft appears to be finished in a tropical sand colour. The red tail fin band surrounding the Hakenkreuz has also been painted over. See: Heinkel He 111 An Illustrated History. Forsyth,Robert with Eddie J. Creek. Hersham:Classic.2014. p.212. Col. |
