From Forsyth's Heinkel He 111:

Picture caption.

He 111 H-6 D-ACLQ of Fluginspektion Afrika at Algiers on 9 November, 1942. Unlike D-ARAJ and D-APZE, which performed similar duties and which were finished in a lighter colour or left in bare metal, this aircraft appears to be finished in a tropical sand colour. The red tail fin band surrounding the Hakenkreuz has also been painted over.
