Indeed, W/C Ford became Wing Leader of the Digby Wing rom mid-April 1943, I later found out and not CO of 402 Sqdn. Confusion was because on 4 June 1943 he flew a mission with 402 Sqdn, but this evidently not as a pilot of this unit but in his capacity of the Digby Wing Leader.
