Re: Marshall, Bert Wilder, Jr.

Groh sells a pencil sketch (very well done) of Jane VII on eBay.

Here are before and After pics of WR-B Jane VI on March 22, 1945 after belly landing number 4.. took the hits at Memmingen leading the 355th after Me 262's

Re: Marshall, Bert Wilder, Jr.

Well, for the 2nd pic, at least the rudder trim tab still works !

Wow HARD to believe that made it anywhere safe, that is a lot of Rudder to be missing

you know, it is getting bad, seen the first pic and was looking at the size of the drop tanks, thinking, those should 108's, then starting to think, man, you know how much it would cost to fill one of those things up right now !!!!!

I can see why, there was a Jane VII

Re: Marshall, Bert Wilder, Jr.

Ron - thanks for the kind remarks. I have just finished the revision to ABD in which I hope to publish approximately 1500 photos and the 600+ P-47 and P-51 a/c that I have data on and all the MACR data plus an expansion of interviews and appendices.

I toyed with the thought of extending the history of the 355th TFW in Vietnam because their record there was unmatched by any unit in all wars in terms of tonnage dropped (I believe this to be true but still researching some RAF wings) on target....but this would be as big a job as the WWII version.

Looking for a publisher to do a limited run of perhaps 500 in a leather bound book...
