Thank you for your comments regarding the Ju 88G-6 WNr. 620 742. I am wondering about the location of the aircraft, however. You have indicated Fritzlar, Germany. I've checked USSTAF Technical Intelligence Report, A-338, for the inspection of Fritzlar on 8-9 April 1945. This inspection report states that 13 fairly intact aircraft were found, 11 of which were Bf 110s, one a Fi 156, and one a Ju 87. No Ju 88s were included in the report. Got any ideas about this? It's a bit of a puzzle, as Fritzlar was a highly active NJG 1 base towards the end of the war. You would have thought, however, that the U.S. inspection would have found the G 9 + FT if it were there. RA |
