Re: Photo Nieuport
Hi Nick,
Thanks for the further info. Looks like I could have posted the photo in my captured french aircraft thread based on your information. Another two Nieuport photos are currently on ebay at : https://www.ebay.de/itm/RP-Realphoto...sAAOSwmAheWVs8 and : https://www.ebay.de/itm/RPPC-Soldate...wAAOSw33FeWVrL I note in the time it has taken to post the auction on the first of these has already ended. Hopefully it can still be seen. I also note German aircraft in the background, so presumably also captured. Regards, Clint |

Re: Photo Nieuport
Hello,
More photos and information on Nieuport XVII Nr.1420, here: http://albindenis.free.fr/Site_escad...adrille103.htm and ... KEK Vaux (-En-Vermandois) (Chapter 8). The seventh victory for von Althaus came on 2 July (1916), when he shot down a Nieuport 11 'Bebe' (Baby) or scout of Escadrille F 114. On the same day, Escadrille N 103 reported a Nieuport 17 as missing; both aircraft were operating in the same area. The plane had the serial number 1420 and seems to have been pictured in a photo album of a member of FFA 23. The Nieuport piloted by MdL (Andre) Seigneurie, was captured intact. I also believe the unit is N86 but with the shooting star painted a bit more flamboyant than usual. The second one looks like a two-seater. Any taker for an ID? Cheers Stig Last edited by Stig Jarlevik; 29th February 2020 at 16:06. Reason: Unit ID |
