Re: Captured British Aircraft
Hello,
Since posting the last link to the Airco DH.4, I have received a copy of Les Rogers British Aviation Squadron Markings of World War I. On P.25 there are two photos of A2170, also a DH.4, of 25 Squadron with the drunken crescent moon image shown on the aircraft above, so perhaps it too is a 25 Squadron machine? One of the photos can be seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/drakegoodman/32292916315 Regards, Clint Last edited by musec04; 19th March 2020 at 16:21. |

Re: Captured British Aircraft
Looks pretty undamaged to me
Since A856 was lost on a night raid 21.9.1917, I suppose either the engine gave up or the aircrew lost their bearings and landed inside enemy territory. Is the prop gone or is it just alined horizontally? Cheers Stig |
