Re: Photo Aviatik C.I

Hello,

On 07.04.20 on ebay there is a photo of Aviatik C.I 826/16 alongside a Fokker Eindecker at :

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Deutsch...gAAOSwARhedKW9

This is captioned by the seller as being at Aviano as have several other photos from the same collection this evening. See the thread on aircraft at Aviano.Hoever Aviatik C.I 826/16 was the machine used for the 'early stealth aircraft' experiments with Cellon covering, so I'm uncertain whether the photo shown is actually at Aviano, though that would be possible, I suppose at a different stage in its career.Hoever, equally, if not more credible is that the Fokker alongside C.826/16 is the stealth Fokker E.369/16 likewise with cellon covering. See:

Re: Photo Aviatik C.I

Hello,

Currently on ebay is a photo of the remains of a Aviatik C.I (Han) .

https://www.ebay.de/itm/2-Fotos-abge...sAAOSwo69ez9jh

I believe two seperate aircraft are shown here and that possibly the second may have been shot down at Villers an Flas, if it exists and that it may be an english machine. So with a view to identifying the serial of the Aviatik has anyone a record specifically of a Hannover built machine being shot down?

Clint

Re: Photo Aviatik C.I

Hello,

Currently on ebay is a line up of aircraft, predominatly Aviatik C.I at Sivry, so possibly FFA 62 at:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Jagdflieger-...YAAOSwFKlfJp5l

Can anyone read the serial on the second machine from the right, possibly C.4509/15 (?) or is it 4529?

Clint

Re: Photo Aviatik C.I

Without checking I actually thought it looked more like C.4539/15....

However after checking Herris, C.4509/15 is the only option!

Cheers

Re: Photo Aviatik C.I

Hi Stig,

My first impression, like yourself without checking was 4529. Indeed based on the Aeronaut book 4509, appears to be the only option that makes sense. I just threw it out there as my 452*/16 column is completely bare and I guess I was hoping...

Clint
