And the second photo being a Bf 109 G-10 of an unknown unit, "Rote 6" ...

Post #3721 - A JG300 loss list says that WNr. 491241 was Erla-built Bf 109 G-10, 5+ white, from 10./III./JG300. Its pilot, Dyk, Uffz. Ferdinand, was KIA in LK with P-51s on 44/12/31 and crashed at Altenhorst-Hannover (Kaltenweide?)
Respectfully,
Steve Sheflin

Dear Steve,

I have the same issue both in Michael Balss's loss list and Jim Perry and George Morrison's one except they both quote Uffz. Ferdinand Dyck's machine as being "Weisse 8", 10./JG 300.

Where shall we go from there ? A typo for 490241 ? No information available on this W.Nr. alas...

Cheers
Marc

Hello,

in www.jg300.de is a photo of Uffz Ferdinand Dyk (promoted to Fw on 28 Dec 1944) sitting on the right wing of his Bf 109 G-10 491241. You can see the rest of the numeral 5.

Regards
Leo
