Hi Stig,
I initially went with a Nieuport 27 as the type shown as that type was operated by Italy and the limited text shown is Italian. Furthermore, the serial is not incompatible with Nieuport 27 operated by Italy while 5887 appears to be a bit of an outlier statistically speaking on the Albin Denis site for the Nieuport 24 while accepting that later serials were used by the Nieuport 24. In terms of serials in the vicinity of 5887 both 5883 and 5889 were operated by 83 Squadriglia and were Nieuport 27 machines.So I'll stick with my initial id for the present, though I'm happy to change it in the light of further information - ideally a squadron attribution for 5871. It would also be nice to see the photo Albin Denis has used for the Nieuport 24 attribution for 5887. Regards, Clint
