The photos titled "Flugzeug BF110 Nachtjäger Negativ a. Werksfertigung" were taken at the Gothaer Waggonfabrik (see the article, "In den Gotha-Werken wurden nicht nur Lastensegler gebaut" in the last issue of Jet & Prop). NL+SM was a BF 110 F (not G).

Would someone kindly explain what is going on in the first 109 picture?

This is how national insignia were spray painted on the aircraft. First the dark outline and the masked, followed by the white part.
