Re: Erg/JG2 operations on 17th July 1941
The fact that Blenheim P4832 ditched about 15 miles north of Cherbourg with one engine on fire at about 15.15 hours does suggest to me that it was shot down by Schneider of 1.Erg/JG2.
Also it seems to be the only RAF Blenheim lost that day as I can't find any Blenheim losses from Fighter, Bomber or Coastal Command for 17th July 1941 or any similar looking types like a Beaufort or Beaufighter in the Cherbourg area. One point is over the time - was 15.15 hours in the L/Waffe report the same as UK time?
