James Robert Cadogan Armstrong SAAF
Apparently Lieutenant (later Captain?) "Armstrong" flew Hurricanes and Tomahawks, or Mitchells or Marauders in the SAAF depending on the source you read. He certainly appears to have been a pilot in 180 Squadron RAF, and flew from Finmere (a Mitchell OTU) according to another.
"Armstrong" was as we know the later convicted murderer Neville Heath. Despite his many disguises while dodging a list of crimes committed pre and post war (and possibly during) I have never established any evidence of his SAAF service. Does anyone have details of his career in the SAAF? K |
