Re: ID of He111H-3 WNr3234 Poss 1./KG100
Hi Chris,
Yes, this a/c is probably 6N+HH of 1./KG100. A handwriteen note on the back of one of the two wreck photos says Nantes (France) on 19.8.40. There were three KG100 a/c lost that day, two of which are potential candidates for this loss, which was pretty badly smashed, but with tail intact. No Staffel, codes or WNr reported on any of the three losses, however. I still owe you some I./ZG 76 scans, which I'll try and send to you this weekend. Regards, |

Hi Chris, the Heinkel 111 you mention on the beach 15.8.40 was i believe from 3/KGr 100. Can you offer any further information on this loss. Is it possible to id this a/c from your photo?

Re: ID of He111H-3 WNr3234 Poss 1./KG100
Steve: It is definitely 15 Aug 40 (matches with Ken wakefield's book and very poor photo). There are 3 shots taken from the left and right side of the cockpit and showing the aircraft in the distance. All that you can see for certain is the KGr 100 badge both sides of the nose
