Re: Photos German Naval Aircraft
An interesting inscription Clint
In Sweden we had something similar, female defence minded organizations which collected money to subscribe and pay for military aircraft. Looks like this was something similar and as a thanks the "Bund" got their name painted on the aircraft. Were there collections in Germany? Most likely I would say. Cheers Stig |

Re: Photos German Naval Aircraft
Hi Stig,
I imagine every state with a navy had a simialar association. Der Flottenbund deutscher Frauen to give it its full name was a female component of the more famous Flottenverein. Charity work and collections were indeed undertaken in support of the navy. Reasonable to assume that there was a female component to the British Naval League of the same era. Regards, Clint |

Re: Photos German Naval Aircraft
Hello,
Currently on ebay are a series of photos of German naval aircraft as follows: Friedrichshafen FF 49c N.4 Is the a serial allocated to aircraft involved in mine clearing operations from Nordeney post war? Are the twin stripes associated with SFS Nordeney during the war. A machine marked in the same manner was Serial 1750,or perhaps that was the prior identity of N.4? https://www.ebay.de/itm/Q051-Foto-WW...sAAOSwqo1gJTd2 Foreground Friedrichshafen FF 33l Serial 1263 (?) or is it 1253?, Behind that Albatros W4 Serial 1107. Many more W.4 to the rear of the photo but serials hard to read.Anyone? https://www.ebay.de/itm/Q059-Foto-WW...sAAOSwOVhgJTeG A line up of several aircraft of which Friedrichshafen FF 33l at the far right of the photo https://www.ebay.de/itm/Q058-Foto-WW...AAAOSw~4tgJTeE Regards, Clint |
