Hello Rudi,
Thank you for posting this interesting photo - Post #4394. This is a probably a Bf 109 G-14/AS. I say that because it has what appears to be the smaller oil tank found on the G-14/AS. Note also the remnants of a starboard curved refined cowling return; lower cowl bumps; deeper Fo 987 oil cooler, and large upper wing bulges. The missing electrical connectors found on the firewall would help clearly identify the engine type: DB 505 AS or DB 605 D. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |

How did you reach that conclusion based on the front part of the aircraft alone? I'm not saying your identification is wrong, I'm just curious - to me it seems that all identifying characters of the K-4 are either missing (pretty much the entire fuselage behind the firewall is missing) or out of view (lower wing surface), and the aircraft does seem to have a small oil tank.
