Re: JG 27, 52,53 and 77 pilot losses for 1943

Thanks a lot.

So it is: JG 27 181, JG 52 179, JG 53 270 (!).

More about JG 27:

I./ JG 27
02-08.43 Rechsverteidigung/Western – 26 pilots
09-12.43 Austria – 9 pilots

II./ JG 27
02-07.43 Mediterranean – 51 pilots
09-12.43 Reichverteidigung/Western – 23 pilots

III./ JG 27
04-12.43 Mediterranean/Grece/Italy – 37 pilots

IV./ JG 27
05-12.43 Mediterranean/Grece/Balkans – 34 pilots

II. Gruppe had twice bigger losses then others, specially when it was operating in Mediterranean area, which should be (in theory) easier.

Do you have info about losses of the other JGs in this year – Kanalgeschwadern or JG 3, 51, 54, 77 ?

Regards

Nef
