Yes, he was recovered. He crashed just west of Lengerich (some 10 km east of Lingen/Ems). He was buried in Lingen/Ems, Grave R33. This grave still exists with a "Im Memoriam" headstone as he was transferred to Baden/Wien in 1957/1958 (I do not have an exact date). Apparently he was later transfered to Helenenfriedhof in Baden, but I have no records of that.
