Newspaper articles from 1989 spell the surname with 'ay' "Floyd C. Lovay" - almost certainly incorrect.

Findagrave shows "Loveys" as a similar family name.

As you probably know there is no trace of "Floyd C. Lovay" or "Floyd C. Lovey" in any currently available family, funerary or U.S. military records (on-line).

Floyd is likely not his birth name.
