And all 14 Squadriglia too
![]() But the significant photo is I think the S.P.2 4391 as it contradicts the information in Gregory Alegi's WDF 128. Regards, Clint |

![]() Looking at p.38 of WDF 128, it seems the production was not as straightforward after all....perhaps more mixed? Cheers Stig |

Re: Photos Italian WW.I Aircraft
HiStig,
I wonder if the batch 4339 to 4439 was not to some point composed completely of S.P.2. Gregory Alegi himself states on P.6 that a handwritten note proclaims 4388 was the last S.P.2,but that the first identified S.P.3 was 4422. Certainly the photo of 4401 on P.7 also looks like a S.P.2.So going on Alergi's own work and the photos we appear to have 4339 to at least 4401 as S.P.2.Other photos and text support this, though I'd like to have more information, before saying this is definitely the case. Certainly the table on P.40 with the whole batch as S.P.3 does not stand up. Speaking of more information, have you ordered the Gentili book yet and if so,how does it stand up for new content in general and new photos in particular? Regards, Clint |
