Hello Andy,
I've just deleted some messages. Yes, I checked out and Swiney died in 2016 at 80. Am trying to find relatives (sons or daughters). He may be the pilot who flew with the Brazilian airman. Tried to find the 226 OCU ORB at The National Archives but for the year of 1966, there seems to be no entry. Found 1970-74 period, and others previously or from 1967 onwards.... Adriano

Quite a bit on him on the web-Air Cdre Michael Swiney. You might like to try and see if his family remained members of the Lightning Association-the RAF will no longer forward letters to his relatives
