109 shot down by Bill Overstreet (eiffel tower)

I've always been fascinated by this aerial encounter and was surprised to find the lack of details about it, such as a firm date when it occurred. Has any more details surfaced since the last post on this subject?

When asked about this encounter, Bill Overstreet could not recall any details and often replied "I was a little busy at the time".

I too always wondered about such things as what direction did he fly under the Eifel tower, what was the Bf109, pilot and unit involved, and where did it crash.
