Hi to all.
![]() Does anybody know in which RAF Squadron flew as observer 2/Lt Zdravko Pudaric (Y-263)? His son remembered that Zdravko said to him he flew as observer in Mosquito. Pudaric flew in North Africa and maybe in Italy in 1943/44 before 7th May 1944 when he was joined to Yugoslav Partisan forces. kind regards Newcomer |

Re: Zdravko Pudaric
Think that it could have been FW454.
Also FA293 which collided with AG991 over the Med on the 13/01/1944. ORB in the NA is a little hard to make out as mostly blurred typing. |

Re: Zdravko Pudaric
Zoran,
a friend of mine said that 233 Sqn never used Baltimore and didn't flew over Italy, but 223 Sqn did it. Maybe it is the typo error? Alex, from which squadron belonged machines you quoted serial numbers? kind regards Newcomer |

Re: Zdravko Pudaric
Hello,
of course it was 223 Sqn, 232 Wing, Desert Air Force. See many 223 Sqn photos at http://maketarstvo.net/forum/viewtop...ight=baltimore. All Yugoslavs mentioned above arrived to 223 sqn on 26.11.1943. On 19.12.1943 bombed a ship between Pašman and Vrgada (Baltimore FA564 'Y', and had some more missions in that plane). On 13.1.1944 (mission to Loreto B.985256 from Foggia Sat.1 - Celone) their plane was FA395 'V', hit by AA fire. Pudarić was wounded, but damage to the plane was negligible (listed wrongly in the squadron's summary as 15.1.1944). I am not sure, but believe 'V' was 105 mission V-Vera. Zoran |

Re: Zdravko Pudaric
Alex,
from which squadron belonged machines you quoted serial numbers? Hello, I cannot remember now, but looked today at 223 Sqn for 13/01/1944. Found the following- A/c 395 "V" - 2L. PUDARIC(Yugoslavia) wounded. This fits in with Zoran's Post above, so A/c FA395 "V". Other crewmembers were - W/O. R.NESTORVIC. W/O. R. PILIPOVIC F/S. Z. MIJUSLOVOTCH. MARTIN A-30A, 41-27977 became Baltimore IV FA395 Last edited by Alex Smart; 11th January 2022 at 00:36. |
