Hello Rick,

you are right, the surname is Ebitsch. The style of lettering is Fraktur with graphic variants of the letter s. The s in Hansl is a short s/final s (in German rundes or Schluss s), the s in Ebitsch is a long s/medial s (in German langes s or Inlaut s).
