Keith.....the AAF Anti-Sub Cmd. was re-designated as 1.BC (1st AF) and duties handed over to Navy by Order of EDC/1AF on 31 August 1943, effective from the 24th.
VS40 had 12 OS2U-3s and 6 SBD-5s at St. Julien on 7 March 1944, as George mentioned.
