All reported losses for JG27 so 4 hv pilots names against them nd no Siegel but maybe not all is known,
we find a uffz Siegel kurt killed with 2.JG26 on 28.feb.45

Re: Bf 109 of II./JG 27?

I dont understand ,my source is the book about the JG 27 of Ring and Girbig by Motorbuch verlag edition, and no aircrafts shoot down at this date, for this book the last recorded loss is the 9 april 45 and nothing between the 19 march and this date of 9 april...This book couldn the best of this unit.....

Hello Sturmbock,

IMHO the Motorbuch - books are a typical product of 70/80's and I don't like this books. In the Prien - chronicle of II./ JG 27 (the best book of this unit) you can find the 4 pilots mentioned by RT but not Siegel. So I think RT is right.

Best wishes
Rasmussen

Re: Bf 109 of II./JG 27?

hi,
@RT: siegel flew until the end of the war, and uffz Siegel kurt who was killed with 2.JG26 on 28.feb.45 could not be the same.
all the best
jim
