Wolfgang Künzer - 9./KG 2 1943

Hello,

does someone possibly know in what place Obergefreiter Wolfgang Künzer of 9./KG 2 died from his wounds on the night of 9/10 January 1943 (at 0130 hrs)?
It's not on the WASt death card in Fold3.com...

Are records from hospitals in the Netherlands possibly accessible somewhere?

Regards,
Timon

Dear John,

It's a very specific detail which would be nice to have. I am not talking about the crash location, but I was wondering if he was taken to a hospital somewhere.
The death time is noted as 01:30 hrs on the 10th of January, but I believe the a/c crashed on the evening of the 9th.
Balke in 'Luftkrieg in Europa' notes that 'from 18:36 hrs, 16 Do 217 were sent out for mine-laying'.
Also, the GQM and the death card note that the crash was on the 9th of January.

Kind regards, Timon

Dear Timon,

Not recorded in the documents I have. Unfortunately I do not have a copy of this VLM. One could assume he DoW in Marinelazarett Groningen.

Cheers
John
