Where USN scout planes shore based? Northern Ireland? June 1944 June 1944

Some 17 USN aviators flying scout planes (Seagull, Kingfisher) from several battleships and cruisers were tasked with observation missions in Spitfires and Seafires during the Normandy landings. For this, the short lived VCS-7 was formed.
Prior to that, they received type training with the 67th PRG.

I gathered that the Kingfishers and Seagulls were shore based while their ships were engaged in the Normandy landings. What station would that have been?
Most of their battleships and cruisers involved had anchored at/near Belfast by the end of May, so a base in Northern Ireland likely?

Thanks for info.

Regards,
Leendert

I think that the answer here is Lee-on-Solent, as I have seen a photo of a SOC and OS2U tied down there in June 1944.
