Information concerning the loss of Uffz. Franz Stieger killed 14.07.43 over Sicily
Hi,
Just bought a sterbebild of a Uffz. Josef Stieger who was a bordfunker with a stuka unit. He was killed on the 14th July 1943 over Sicily. He was an experienced flier with the EK II and I and dive bomber badge. He was 25 years old. Please could you provide any information on his loss? Thank you for your help. Rick

Uffz.Franz Stieger was bordfunker in a Ju-88A-14 (Wnr. 144682, 3E+DD) lost at/near Avola, Sicily. Unit: 8./KG 6.
Other crew Oblt. Emil Fiala and Fw. Georg Freimuth also killed. Uffz. Zieck wounded. Regards, Leendert
