Re: KG 40 Combat History
Chris,
Would it be possible to publish the loss list separately? I suggest a Luftwaffe im Focus type publication that would include additional photos that did not make it into the book. |

Re: KG 40 Combat History
It’s not up to the author of course but I do wonder why publishers don’t include with books a one-time download code for any “bonus content” like you often get when you buy an LP. A loss list is an easy thing to make into a pdf and is well-suited for referring to on a screen (with the advantage of being searchable).

Re: KG 40 Combat History
It would be at least an extra 27,000 words

Re: KG 40 Combat History
Perhaps a Volume 2 then? I am sick and tired of looking at screens. Reading books should be a distinct, separate activity.

Hello Ed, Have you ever tried an e-reader? It feels like a different activity than reading off your phone of tablet. It's not that 'digital' feel. Plus, one can upload PDFs on there. |

Re: KG 40 Combat History
Hello,
No, but I have worked in book publishing for a long time. Around the time the U.S. Postal Service made it impossible for foreign customers to buy books from us, so-called e-readers appeared everywhere. I recall reading that they were a popular gift in the UK, but sat unused in their boxes in most cases. I have no desire to own one. I buy books from Germany and do not pay a lot of money to get them. I recall posts here from those in Europe that pointed out where to get the best price for postage depending on which country you lived in. So what has happened is a situation where people were forced out of the paper book market while immediately being offered an "alternative." They can keep it. Best, Ed |

Re: KG 40 Combat History
I'd rather buy a physical book. I am pausing downloading anything.

Re: KG 40 Combat History
So would I, but for additional reference material (like a loss list) that I might want to refer to independently of reading the book, having something digital and searchable can be handy.
