Re: Photos French Aircraft

Thanks Bertrand for the reply and additional information. I take it any of the Breguet photos are likely from BR.7?

Today some further photos of French aircraft, this time from the Balkan theatre

Nieuport 10 N 717 (of N 87 d'Orient?)

Farman MF.11 MF.820 or MF.826 perhaps

https://www.delcampe.net/en_GB/colle...042197142.html

The seller also has other photos of aircraft from the same area at

Re: Photos French Aircraft

Well Clint

Confess I must hand it to the photographer that he constantly missed out all the interesting
bits (the IDs)

However, and that must clearly be by mistake (), he actually managed to get one with the well
handled Bre 14!
The number is just beyond my certainty. Do I so see No 2484 or what?
It is most likely visible on the original glass plate.... (grumble... )

Cheers
Stig

Re: Photos French Aircraft

Hi Stig,

Fair comments I'm afraid. The serial on the Bre.14 A2 certainly could be as you suggest.Could be.

Here's another one more clearly readable, but for me at least of lesser interests as clearly postwar.

Re: Photos French Aircraft

The guy that likes photographers that don't like like serials has now posted further stereo glass plate images, including another Breguet 14,this time a 14 B2 with an elusive serial number. These are at the same link as previously posted

Re: Photos French Aircraft

Hi Stig,

Yes I see that number now you've written it ,not sure how I read it before, but undecided until now. Also the markings of BR 66. Albin Denis has the photo too,but without serial and it is useful to be able to expand the ebay photo.A result.

Clint

Re: Photos French Aircraft

Hello,

Currently on ebay are a collection of photos of French aircraft from the Great War. Unfortunately several are either a little small or frankly not obviously interesting shots. There are however a couple of interesting photos of Sopwith 1A2 including one named Pere Alphonse. The item also has an envelope marked SOP 105 so that is a possibility for the unit, though no unit makings are visible.

A further Sopwith 1A2,possibly of F 52 from what can be seen of the markings can be seen here

As usual the seller has further photos which can be found here

Re: Photos French Aircraft

Hello,

I'm looking for some assistance with a couple of French aircraft and their STAe numbers.

If I read the number correctly this is possibly a Voisin Type 10 of Escadrille V16

https://www.delcampe.net/en_GB/colle...155318980.html

I believe that based on known STAe numbers this Caudron G.III E2 probably has the full number 5298?

Clint
