Re: Mustang II lost November 16th 1944

Hi Michel. Eighth AF lost a P-51 on the 16th and 5 on the 18th. 4 pilots were killed and 2 captured but both were in Germany not Netherlands........

16th NOV. (Mission 715 escorts to the Aachen-Duren area, Lancasters were also in the area); the Mustang lost was 42-106896, 355FG ( Woolard POW) at Berleburg. MACR 10298. Too far east.

18th NOV. (Mission 716, fighter sweeps in Germany), the POW was Young 339FG in 44-14729 35m. north of Saarbrucken. MACR 10293. Too far south.

The 363TRG (Ninth AF) had F-6 / P-51 Mustangs at the time but no losses apparently.
