Mikhail Dmitrievich Baranov
Good morning Gentlemen,
what is the story behind the often-quoted 28 shared kills of Mikhail Dmitrievich Baranov ? I found them in "Yakovlev Aces of World War 2" by Mellinger for example. But this website http://soviet-aces-1936-53.ru/abc/b/baranov_md.htm clearly indicates he had no shared kills. Cheers, Michael |

Re: Mikhail Dmitrievich Baranov
...this website
http://airaces.narod.ru/all1/baran_md.htm mentions that sometimes 28 group kills are cited but doesn't include them in the kill list that it provides. |

Re: Mikhail Dmitrievich Baranov
...update: now his kill list is reduced to a total of 23 with no shared kills.
http://soviet-aces-1936-53.ru/abc/b/baranov_md.htm But what about the well-known photos of his Yak-1 adorned with 24 stars ? |
