The 407th Squadron against the ship MADRID on December 9, 1941?
Colleagues.
I ask for help in establishing the authorship of the sinking of the German ship MADRID (8777 GRT) on December 9, 1941. There is a description of a successful attack on the ship by Beauforts of the 217th squadron. https://asn.flightsafety.org/wikibase/53046 But there is also a claim for the sinking of this ship from the 407th Squadron. https://www.key.aero/article/heritag...f-407-squadron What actions did the 407th Squadron take against the convoy, which included MADRID? sergey |

Please note that RAF/RCAF sqns are never referred to as 407th unlike American sqns. Just 407 Sqn

Sergey
Our friend Geoffrey Sinclair has checked his records and says The 407th Squadron against the ship MADRID on December 9, 1941? 407 Squadron records no attacks done on 9 December. https://heritage.canadiana.ca/view/o...c_mikan_135766 See C-12273 images 1198, 1854 Cheers Stig |
