Re: info loss of 236 Squadron Beaufighter NV419, 28-29 December 1944
Theo. From the 236 Sqn. ORB Summary and Record of events, 6 a/c were on armed recce. to Terschilling Harbour; no shipping in harbour. Before patrol started F/S Gregg made a controlled approach to the sea and a/c quickly submerged, at 16.14; NE664/J and NT942/B dropped smoke floats, at 18.15 a Warwick arrived and dropped a smoke float and an RAF launch picked Gregg up but no sign of navigator F/S Lamb.
Looks like NV419 was "L". Regards Nick
